Celebrate LGBTQ pride with the Alliance! We'll be hosting a variety of events focused on LGBTQ health and HIV prevention:

Community Promise Poetry Slam*
Wednesday, June 14, 5-6pm
The Alliance - Midtown, 64 W 35th St

Join us for poetry readings and spoken word performances. We'll also be distributing condoms, lube, and info on HIV prevention. Community Promise is a community-level intervention to promote progress toward consistent HIV prevention practices through community mobilization.

*This event is geared towards transgender women.

Safe Sex Saturday
Saturday, June 17, 12-5pm
CASA Washington Heights, 2036 Amsterdam Ave

Come learn how to make safer sex sexy! Let’s talk about ways to keep the pleasure going and still be safe. Join us on our first Saturday opening! Stop by grab a bite to eat.  Free HIV and Hep C testing will also be available.

Tuesday, June 27 marks the annual National HIV Testing Day! Alliance staff and Peers will be out in force encouraging New Yorkers to know their status and play their part in ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic. We will be conducting free and confidential testing at several Duane Reade/Walgreens locations as well as our Midtown, East Harlem, Washington Heights, and Lower East Side community centers.

Join Project P.U.S.H. (PrEP Use Services for Health) for a special screening of the documentary "Kiki!" There will be refreshments, a raffle, and info on HIV prevention tools like PrEP and PEP.

"Kiki" highlights New York City's LGBTQ youth-of-color and Ball culture.

Film will start at 6 p.m.

Project P.U.S.H. is a program aimed at increasing the knowledge, access, and utilization of prevention services like PrEP and PEP for individuals of color and their partners who are at high risk of contracting HIV.

World AIDS Day

ASCNYC’s commemoration of World AIDS Day takes place at the ASCNYC main office and is a full day of free events and activities. Our observance begins with a moving recitation of names, inspiring performances by ASCNYC Peer Educators, a poetry reading featuring members of our Creative Writing Workshop, and a delicious community lunch. Free and confidential HIV testing is available throughout the day. ASCNYC’s World AIDS Day observance draws a crowd of clients, staff, supporters, and friends.
